Biography
Patricia Tagufa is an Associate Attorney at Buscemi Hallett LLP, where she represents clients with complex legal matters in construction defects, insurance coverage disputes, business litigation, and employment cases. Ms. Tagufa is admitted to practice before the State Court of California and the United States District Court for the Southern District.
Ms. Tagufa was born and raised in the Philippines. She is fluent in Tagalog and other Filipino regional dialects. At age 17, she moved to the United States to complete her tertiary education at San Diego State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
After completing her undergraduate studies, Ms. Tagufa worked as a litigation paralegal for a personal injury firm, managing a range of cases from motor vehicle accidents to wrongful death suits. She then advanced her legal education by pursuing a Juris Doctor degree at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego. There, she quickly distinguished herself as a litigator, earning awards and recognition through her involvement with the school’s National Trial Team. Further enhancing her legal acumen, Ms. Tagufa worked as a certified intern and post-bar clerk at the Public Defender's Office of San Diego County, advocating for clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges.
Beyond her legal pursuits, Ms. Tagufa enjoys the unwinding companionship of her beloved fiancé and their dog, going on road trips, hiking, and mastering the art of pasta-making. Furthermore, she dedicates a portion of her free time to assisting foreign lawyers and international students in preparing for the California Bar Exam.
